A set of stylised multicultural families for role play. These beautiful dolls are handmade in India under Fair Trade conditions. This 23 piece set is made from cotton. It features stylised versions of different multicultural families from around the world. Asia, Africa, India and the South Pacific are all represented.
Each family includes an extended family such as grand parents or elders as well as children. The largest person measures 8cm high. This fun set is supplied in a drawstring bag. Children can use this soft fabric block play set for role play, counting and sorting as well as for learning about different cultures. As set is hand made, details may vary. Suitable for children from the age of 3 years.
This Fair Trade organization was founded in Kolkata, West Bengal, India in 2003. Today over 150 local families are involved. The talented artisans hand make a diverse range of products, specialising in educational resources. This organisation provides the local workers with a sustainable income, and all the ethics of fair trade are maintained. This organisation also provides and emergency fund for the workers in time of need such as a medical emergency for the artisan or family member, funds are readily available so they can seek immediate assistance. They have also built a school in Asansol, west of Kolkata.
