The parachute and ball set is a classic resource for encouraging group activity and cooperation as the children use the parachute to throw the balls into the air. Have the children listen to the noises the parachute makes with the balls bouncing around from soft sounds to loud rippling noises depending on how vigorously the parachute is moved. Play a game where the children have to work together to get all of the balls off the middle or have one side compete against the other with each allocated a different coloured set of balls. As the balls toss high into the air, children will have fun ducking and avoiding the soft balls coming at them. The parachute and balls is a fun lesson for children where they need to follow the directions and help one another. It is great for encouraging cooperation and perceptual skills while strengthening their upper torso.
